Four floors that work from the front door to the back bedroom
A whole-house floor has to survive the kitchen and look right in the living room. These are the products that do both, and where each fits.
Vinyl plankRigid-core vinyl plank, throughout
The most common whole-house choice: waterproof in the kitchen, quiet in the bedrooms, no transitions between wet and dry rooms. A 20-mil wear layer handles dogs and kids.
LaminateLaminate in living areas
The most realistic wood look for the money and the hardest surface. Living rooms, halls and bedrooms, paired with matching vinyl plank in the kitchen and baths.
Wide plankWide-plank, long boards
Seven- to nine-inch planks in long lengths make open plans feel bigger and reduce the visual noise of a thousand seams. Available in both laminate and vinyl.
StairsStairs that match
Two-story houses need stairs that read as part of the floor: matching treads, nosings and landings, glued and fastened, with the risers finished to suit.
Six services, one crew, one quote
Whole-house work is sequencing: removal, subfloor repair, acclimation, install, stairs, trim, in an order that keeps the house livable. Each piece is on the quote and each is done to the manufacturer's spec.

Laminate flooring
Wood-look laminate from AC4 up, floated over the right underlayment with the gaps the warranty requires, in any of the four counties.

Replacing floors under a claim? Scoped the way adjusters read it.
When a pipe or appliance takes out floors that run through several rooms, the matching question decides how much the claim replaces. The installer documents it and writes the scope in Xactimate.
- Flooring scope in Xactimate line items your carrier recognizes
- Continuity and product availability documented for matching
- Subfloor moisture checked before install
- Like-kind replacement on the claim; upgrades priced separately
All four counties, one number
Installers are matched by proximity across King, Snohomish, Pierce and Kitsap counties, which keeps travel off your quote. Whole-house projects anywhere in the region are scheduled within a couple of weeks of approval.

Call Me Right NowQuestions homeowners ask before they book
Is the in-home estimate really free?
Yes. The installer measures, checks the subfloor, helps you choose a product and sends an itemized written quote at no charge and with no obligation. A materials deposit is normal once you approve, and the amount is on the quote.
How do you install a whole house while we live in it?
In stages. Typically bedrooms and halls first while you live in the main areas, then the living spaces while you use the bedrooms, with the kitchen done in a single day and stairs last. Furniture moves room to room; you keep a kitchen and a bed every night. The staging plan is on the quote.
One product throughout, or laminate in some rooms and vinyl in others?
Either works. One rigid-core vinyl plank throughout gives a seamless look with no transitions and waterproofing everywhere. Laminate in living areas with coordinating vinyl plank in wet rooms gives the most wood-like look where it shows. The installer shows pairs that read as one floor across a flush transition.
How long does a whole house take?
Three to five days of installation for a typical main floor plus stairs, after about 48 hours of acclimation. Larger homes and tile removal add time. Measure to finished floor is usually two to four weeks depending on product availability.
Do you move furniture and appliances?
Standard furniture is moved room to room as part of the staged plan and put back. Appliances are pulled and reset. Pianos, safes, aquariums and pool tables need a mover arranged beforehand; the quote says exactly what is included.
Who actually does the work?
An independent, Washington-registered flooring contractor serving your county. Puget Sound Flooring Pros is a service of Help Me Now Inc that takes your request, schedules the measure and makes sure you are taken care of. You get the installer's name and L&I number before they arrive, and your contract is with them.
